Hello,
I have installed Kazza before with no prblems. I have had Ad-aware installed with kazaa before, again with no problems. I dont know if Ad-aware is relevant but I thought I would mention it.
Recently though I tried, as normal, to go into kazza but it said I had removed some of its components, or something similar and would not log me on automatically.
I uninstalled kazza and tried to re-install it but after 'hanging' for ages while it tried to connect to P2P network, it eventually said ' kazza has not installed'. Despite this I was able to get into the kazaa main page but where it says 'connecting....' in the bottom right hand corner...it does not change and still does not log me on. I have tried this several times but to no avail.
I thought it may be something to do with Ad-aware and some of kazaa's spyware being blocked by Ad-aware so i trawled though the quarantined files and re-loaded one file containing one of the spyware applications that kazaa needs to function.
I tried installing kazaa again but still to no avail. I have no idea if Ad-aware has anything to do with it and I am not blaming it, but I thought I would mention it in case someone suggests it may be an issue.
Does anyone have any clues as to what the problem might be ? Please, if you have ananswer and it is technical, use baby language with me, I only have a moderate technical mind, not advanced. Thanks
It depends. Was it the regular Kazaa Media Desktop or Kazaa Lite? The lite version should work fine with AdAware. It used to for me. But I rarely use it now.
It is notKazaa lite . But it is the unpaid version of course.
I cant help but ask -- why? why use KMD? even kazaa lite is a better alternative. they have clean kazaas and "kazaa lite revolution" (also lite) of version 2.6, and at least tools like k-lite hack and diet-k.
then again, ive asked my freinds the same questions but they're dumb as rocks and say "because it can download music".
I put Kazaa Lite on a friends computer a couple years ago because it was simple for him. After he learned how to use it he replaced it with KMD.I asked him why and he said because KMD was on Download.com and Kazaa Lite wasn't.Originally Posted by mcovey

Please note, kmd has .dll files and activeX controls that will download more spywear after you've installed the program. removing any of these many(ive counted 42 thus far) will cause the kazaa program not to work, not to mention removing any of the adware spywear will also do the same thing get the new kazaa lite by Clicking Here
Don't Get KMD. K-Lite is better, but just do different types of file sharing.
HardwareHank.NET has an all-in-one TorrentBox, GameCopyWorld, and AstaLaVista.Box Search! Go There NOW!
Well I downloaded Kazaa Lite Version 2.4.3 and it works.
But if someone can still give me an answer to why I cant fully download KMD it would be appreciated.
Thanks for the tips so far though guys
I still have not found an answer but I know someone must know and has had this problem before...even if Kazaa light is working ok....why is Kazaa light better ?
Hey bhafc87,
Here's why you couldn't reinstall your new version of Kazaa!!
When using the Remove program function to uninstall Kazaa, the Registration Keys aren't always removed (actually, I don't think they ever are!). If the Reg Keys remain in your computer, you will not be able to re-install. Kazaa actually covers this in their FAQ's. Here is what is written.
I can't install or start Kazaa Media Desktop, what should I do?
This can happen for many reasons. Please go through the following process to try and clear up the problem:
Make sure there's enough disk space. Kazaa Media Desktop (KMD) requires at least 20MB to install.
Uninstall all existing copies of KMD from your computer.
Clear the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Kazaa keys from the Windows registry. To do this: click Start > Run, Type in Regedit, and press Enter; Then browse for the Kazaa keys and delete them.
Download the latest version of KMD and try installing again.
I'm sure that this will resolve your install problem. I ripped several tuffs of hair out trying to figure out the same problem you had.

WOW, people still use the FastTrack network? Oh, fuck...people still use KaZaA?

You better read up or you'll end up with the RIAA knocking on your door.
