Mute is an anonymous program that protects users identites by moving their transfers through a series of Nodes. Basicaly it creates a number of middle-men between the two transfer points. If you want more info on the mute design see the web page:

what i want to do here is put out a bata for test. This bata includeds resumes, download ques and upload controlls. once we are sure that these thing are working well, the programer will also add swarming. Mute is open source and these changes did not come from the original designer and neither from me. But i will send your impute to him. Their is a problem when you go to exit the program. sometimes it does not want to quit and you have to close from the task-managaer but we don't see that as the priority right now. The site is hosted by someone else in italy. so click on the hyper-link there to download. Do it quick cause i don't know how long it will stay up.

some history:

mute was originaly designed by a guy called Jason Roher. A bunch of us guys became very fustrated when we heard he would not be working on mute till after sumer and decided to improve mute ourselves. first a guy named JROC did some cometic work. that has allready been posted to the main mute webpage. the good thing about that is that it works well with win2k. This beta here goes beyond that. Was designed by a guy called nate. we plan to get this posted to the mute website soon. nate plans to work on swarms next. when mute has that it will be ready for the big time.

mute has an open source liscence so we hope this success will bring more developers to the table.

ignore all the gnutella stuff on this site. the napshare program has been modified to fit MUTE. skip down to the part about automation. you will have to modify the
NAPS-auto.txt file in the Setings folder. that section will expain how. i recomend you make a backup copy of that file before you change it.
