Please Help With Bit Torrent Speed Issue

Ok guys i need some major major major help and have been losing sleep past few nights as im goin nuts. For the past 3 weeks i have been gettin downloads in access of 100K/s plus using burst. I downloaded a bunch of spyware / adware and virus removal programs and installed them. My downloads slowed down so i deleted all of them. This monday all of a sudden my downloads were reduced to 40K or so. My next door neighbor still was goin strong at 100K plus. I left it and still on Tuesday same problem. I can see that im not able to connect as much to other peers to download things as i was the past 3 weeks. IM being snubbed a lot more for some reason, i have noticed. I have passed NAT. I didnt change anything. SO today i got fedup with gettin 30K or so when i have been getting 100 plus.
I changed the MAC address on my linksys router, reformatted hard drive, got a new IP address, and still cannot exceed over 30K. I tried bit tornado and have noticed i still cannot connect to more than 6 peers max and am getting a lot of snubs still. WHat the heck has happened in the past four days and how do i fix this problem. Please respond anyone or email to [email protected]. I use linksys router and modem and have comcast if that helps.

I'm curious as to the answer to this question myself. I have a 3 meg dsl. I usually get between 30 and 80 kbs using TorrenTopia.

It's all according to what you are downloading ! how many peers ,the tracker ,how many seeds AND HOW MUCH YOU ARE UPLOADING!! with UPLOADING the main thing if you slow down your upload below 80% of max. you will slow down on your downloading, get snubed, know what I mean? no one is going to upload to you and you not give them anything back! It has nothing to do with the client. you are not going to find the magic client that gives you everything and screws the rest of the bittorent community. I upload at my max. 30 kB/s , and get back 100kB/s +, You get what you give with bittorrent! bittorrent is not kazza G-1 0r G-2 or the donkey if you don't use the program like you are supposed to ,get out of it. you repay 1 to 1 or 100% upload back for what you get or you will end up banned by most trackers and sites. It works good for people that are not leechers. and we don't care if you leave! end of story

As I have said before and people seem to ignore. This is not a good time of the year to test speeds. Most of the nation is out of college right now, so the bandwidth readily available on bittorrent has dropped significantly. If you want an example of speed missing, I went from a 10mbit upload speed at college to a 256kbit upload at home. Then I have to limit it a bit to make sure I can still function (I don't limit my 10mbit at all when I am at college and it pours out at full speed all night).

    carolinawolf,
I dont know about share ratios and all that but if it takes me 8 hours to download somethin usin burst i upload for 8 hours when im done. I have noticed that i am getting snubbed a lot more, the only reason i noticed this is b/c i started using bit tornado and u can see who is snubbing you. WHat can I do about this, as i think im getting snubbed so much my speeds arent getting past 10K/s.
    Thanks
