The meaning of this poll is to see what you think is the better archiver software. Only to see what you think as i already know which is best. I currently support ZipZag, it has the most feautures and supports the most extentsions. I had many WinRar related split files which i was able to join together with zipzag. Give your opinions.

I use both WinRAR and 7-zip. i use WinRAR mostly for when i send files to other people...because pretty much everyone uses rar :)
but for personal backups, and stuff just for me i use 7-zip because it compresses better than rar (unbelievable, i know.) it's also neat that it's FREE, standalone, and supports many other formats. i keep it on my USB thumbdrive.

7-zip also has a cool command line mode fo batch processing. Its a pretty damn good archiver.
For the normal home user though, any of the above products would do just fine. Personally i use zipgenius which handles practically every format and is completely free.

cpu where did u go on vacation?
I'm with cpu on this one. I've used both for a long time now. Winrar is easy to use and it's a standard format. It has shell extensions, so everything can be done from a right click. As for 7-zip, it would be nice for that program to become more standard, but for now, it's more of a power user thing.
The only other program I use is stuff-it, when I have to deal with mac formats. Not recommended though. I really don't care for that program all that much.
With rars becoming the standard, there isn't even a need for winzip anymore. Winrar does all that winzip does anyway. It's a tiny download anyway, so if you send a rar to someone who doesn't have it, they can install it in no time, even on 56k.
