Hi everyone,
I'm using shadow's bit tornado 0.32 and everytime i download something, the download rate and upload rate both increase to an average of about 50kb/s and thats fine. The bad part is that after about 20 minutes, it gradually drops to 0 and i am no longer able to download and upload. I then have to restart the whole client and start the cycle again.... Is there a setting that i should be putting on or something? Pls help, thanks
I'd suggest trying out another client such as Azureus to see whether you see the same effect.
If your entire network dies after using BT for a while with any client, update your Network cards driver.
Seeing as how you're able to upload, I doubt it's a router/firewall configuration problem.
Perhaps you're being "snubbed" for some reason. At this point, I don't have enough information to know.
What client are you using? Are you behind a firewall and/or router? If so, do you have them/it configured properly? Are all these problems related, as in are all the torrents you tried from a specific tracker? How much did you test concerning your problem?
You can't triple stamp a double stamp.
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm using the shadow's bit tornado 0.3.2 and i have already configured the router. I already tried with and without the router, switching off zone alarm and even norton antivirus. I did manage to download a file completely once. I left it over night and when i woke up, it was ok.... That was the only one though. Hope this info helps. Thanks for help so far. I'll go try the azureus for now. THanksOriginally Posted by Ken17625
Did you use my guide for the configuration?
What colour is the spot in the top right of BitTornado?
I'm not really malicious. I'm a nice guy.
If you are even slightly concerned about your BT speeds, please check this thread.

i had problems with the 0.32 core so i went back to the 0.31 ver
The spot color is green. I read through your guide. Wish i found that earlier though heh heh. Anyway how come shutting down zone alarm 5 does not clear the problem. I'm using zone alarm 5 at the moment.Originally Posted by Malicious Intent
What ISP are you using? If it's not a config problem or you being snubbed for not uploading fast enough, then it sounds like your ISP is snubbing your ass after x amount of bandwidth use in x amount of minutes. Check the companies TOS to see if they have limits on upload/download bandwidth use in any given time period. I know all reserve the right to dub ya a bandwidth hog and either cap you or force you to cancel or upgrade or stop using so much. Also check your ISP's free email account, you may find emails from them stating that your using xxx% more bandwidth then the 'average' user.

My advice is to downgrade for ZA 4.5, the same advice ZA's customer service gives lol. Version 4.5 is still available on their website, just a little tough to find. Hope this solves ur problems =)
your not uploading to the peers you are taking from plain and simple it's the way bittorrent works' give 80% to 100% upload cap. and watch your download increase! read http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/1.htmlOriginally Posted by Nova81
