Bittorrent is absolutely USELESS

I registered for Zeropaid forums for the sole purpose of posting this message. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH BITTORRENT OR ANY OF THE OTHER CLIENTS. I have tried the original client, the updated 3.something client, the shadow experimental client, and the Azureus client. Absolutely NONE and I repeat NONE of these programs work as advertised. I have gotten links from various sources over the months and most times the message is the same: UNABLE TO FIND TRACKER (whatever that means). When a connection is made your fastest download wil be in the area of 0.05 kB/sec. and that craps out after 10 minutes and the connection NEVER restarts...EVER. :ass

Before you ask, I HAVE read the nonsense about firewalls and point systems and leaving the client open after completion.I don't have a firewall or router and I leave everything running for days at a time. IT DON'T WORK!

Let me spell it out for you. I have a Windows '98 machine that has no firewall or any of the other crap. NONE OF THAT APPLIES TO ME. So, the moral of the story is: Bittorrent simply does not work. It is a plot by those who offer the program to steal files off of your computer without giving you ANYTHING in return. The 6 meg that you do manage to get will be uploaded 500 times and you will never get another bit of information on your machine.

I REPEAT: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ANY BITTORRENT CLIENT.

The whole idea of Bittorrent never improssed me. The fact that it needs a tracker makes it a target and easy to shut down. Better use Mute or another Anonymous p2p app.

well skeptic you are completely wrong you must not know what you are doing.i use it all the time and rarely have problems.sure sometimes you will get stuck with a few slow downloads but not like you claim,do you even have a high-speed connection?did you configure the bittorrent options?someone who rants like this sounds like a complete moron considering how many people use this without problems.

Skeptic: I think that you just had some bad luck with the torrents you got. I have been using BT for about half a year now and rarely have problems. Just the fact that you are using Windows 98 alone makes me think that you don't completely know what you're doing.

MY opinion is that ALL APPLES SUCK and it is therefore FACT!!! i tasted apples on 3 separate occasions, in 3 different varieties and apples all suck. my limited knowlege of apples and sense of taste is all that matters

what are you afraid that people could actually solve your problem and you might like BT?

if you don't have a high speed connection, a fast computer with a lot of space, and a reliable tracker site bt will not work

Just because you are frustrated with it, doesn't mean you have to tell everybody it sucks. Obviously, many people like it and it works well for them. You could have easily posted a message requesting information here on what clients and settings work the best. If things still didn't work you opinion that it is a waste of time might be worth something.

Did you try going to any actual torrent website, or did you just Kazaa some torrent files? If you went to any of the torrent sites, the tracker shouldn't be down unless for maintainence, but you probably never checked, and you probably never had anything configured on your client properly, so it gave you a crap download. Or maybe your ISP is monitoring the incoming port for BitTorrent. Do something that will help us all. Think.
