Ok, I just got dsl a couple months ago. Being the good little winmx user that I try to be I decided to share my files, and I've amassed quite a bit. The problem is when I do that, my connection slows down to a crawl. I could get better speed with dial-up. One time it slowed to 46k! And this is on a dsl of about 768 most of the time.(not adsl, just dsl) So at the moment I can't share files and i suspect people think im a leech.
I am on a router and lately ive been having problems downloading or connecting to other users. Is there any way I can share my files without slowing my connection? I put a bandwidth throttle on it but it still didn't help. Any suggestions?
You could go to secondary connection and limit how many you let upload. You can also go to settings>incoming TCP connections & IN/OUT UDP packets and put the number 1 in front of both. ie 65525 > 165525. That has helped me.

Do you have your ports forwarded? If not look on the WinMx forums to see how.(That is if there are forums on WinMx,I only tried it a couple times)
I don't need no stinking signature
Limti your upload speed to about 80% of the capacity of your connection.
