I've been testing out the new Shareaza 2.0. I like it, but it constantly favors gnutella2 connections over gnutella1. Gnutella2 doesn't nearly have as many files. What is the big deal with Gnutella2? I mean, from the surface view of it I can't find anything thats better about it than Gnutella1? If I'm wrong, whats better about it?

well from what i hear, it is much faster than g1, but g1 should be favored in shareaza because it has many many more files than g2. I liked shareaza version 2.0, but it seemed to favor g2 as well. i don't know wuts up with that :shoot
The G2 network is very well structured - all it needs now is more files. I guess Shareaza is pushing G2 in order to get those files and increase the size and viability of the network.
Consider you are using their app, who cares ? If you want to use G1 then there are a plethora of mediocre clients for you to choose from.

its programed automatically to connect to the gnutella 2. I think you can re configure it to connect to the networks you want. There is some warning message that comes up. However if you go to File and connect to the network then you can connect to the other two networks
Try searching with just G2 connected first. Any downloads from G2 sources will be much - much faster than from the other networks. If you can get what you want from other Shareaza clients, your speed will rock. I get some great G1 speeds with Shareaza too, just less often. With Shareaza and Edonkey network - be prepared to sit in quues for a while. Still useful for rare files.
You will probably get much faster speeds with a proper Gnutella client than with Shareaza connecting to Gnutella. Shareaza's Gnutella implementation is neither up-to-date nor does it work well with the implementations of LimeWire or BearShare.
