My firewall just detected an outgoing e-mail from shareaza. ANyone got any ideas what this was and how to disable it?
I blocked it but i'm still concerned as to why it would be sending e-mails.

Its just using the port that is commonly used for sending mail, don't worry about it as it is not actually sending mail.
I think your firewall may be showing a false positive, cause why would shareaza even bind to port 25? Shareaza is Open Source, rest assured it is _not_ sending emails nor doing anything else to compromise your privacy.

It picks ports randomly, and apparently the developers weren't careful enough to restict certain port numbers...

When a computer sends email it connects to port 25 on anther computer, it dosn't use port 25 on the computer the email is being sent from.
Stownplayer's client was probably uploading to or downloading from someone who has set their client to listen on port 25.
