    Speeding Up ?

Is there a way to speed up the downloads in Shareaza?

You should probably check out the New Users forum on shareaza's website

shareaza is so bad about not finishing.. IT COULD TAKe 3 -4 weeks. I have been downloading a few large files, nothing over 400,000 megs, but with 300-450 people to download from, none would start and stay queued for the longest time.

try finding it on g1 or g2, they're alot faster than ed2k. I usually seek out G2 sources, because I find them fastest.

I tried Shareaza 2.0 but my downloads won't start. it took a lot of time waiting for hundreds of users with thousand queues from eDonkey Network.

    same here

I have the same problem. Do you think it has something to do with the firewall settings?

Shareaza was the best for me, Its got the best search and it always connected. Bittorrent downloads the fastest but it also hogs up all the upload and download bandwidth. But recently its been going so slow anywhere from 0 to 300 bps. I dunno I messed with the configuration or was it after I installed Azureus. The downloads just stand pending for hours and hours. (BTW I've installed the latest Shareaza)
    Peace.

First of all, check the "Settings" to make sure that your download bandwidth is adjusted in kilobytes (KB) per sec, and not kilobits (kb). Second, check "Network" to make sure you can connect to an Edonkey server (colored yellow) in "HighID." This is very important, connecting in "HighID" gets the best downloads on edonkey network. The opposite of it is LowID which is not very good, but decent. LowID occurs when you have a router/firewall on your connection, but this problem can be solved by setting up the port forwarding feature found on every router.

Keep posting on how you're doing.
