So I downloaded piolet today. Everything goes smoothly into the install, but when piolet tries to run it shows the splash screen then nothing happens. I looked in the task manager to confirm that it started, and it had; that is the process was there, and it was taking up 80% of my CPU, but I had no physical application on my screen.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any input would be appreciated.

did it show up on the taskbar on the bottom?? Did you install it with all other windows closed? What version did you install?
No it didn't show up in the taskbar. Yes it was installed with all other windows closed, and it was version 1.05
What version of Windows are you running?

i'm having the same problem.
piolet always used to work fine for me, but i had a recent battle with spyware and attempted to clear my system of it. piolet then started freezing on the splash screen. a complete reinstall didn't fix it.
so who knows? we've somehow blocked some spyware it needs to run?
I have not used piolet for long time but I remember on my first try it was doing something to all the files in my share folder. Since there were a few gigs in there at the time it took quite a while and a lot of cpu.
