    Nero 6.3.1.10 , problem burning

I'm pulling my hair out !
Installed nero 6.3.1.10 and I am unable to burn any mp3 (p2p) of hard-drive to disc, after about 3 minutes of simulation it aborts.
I have been using nero 5.5 for the past 18 months without any problems.
6.3.1.10 is unable to burn files that I already had burned with 5.5.
I am not very comp.-savvy , but can someone please enlighten me !
    Thanks

did you UNISTALL the 5.5 and reinstall the new 6.3?? And does it recognize your cd-rw drive? Or show up. And how much disk space do you have left, and if you got it off a p2p..which i trust you bought it.. Does it have the right seriel number so you can unlock it.

I had a problem that occurred out of the blue. Suddenly a version of Nero I had for several months wouldn't burn anything. I just un-installed it and installed the newest version and it was ok.

Un-install it and start over again and re-install. Won't hurt and it might just work.

    I downloaded it from nero.com , and I did uninstall 5.5
I just un-installed 6.3 and reinstalled it, the same problems continues . Its starts burning my files and midway through it aborts, even files I was able to burn with previous software. Although it will copy cd's without a problem.
    Thanks for any comments.

Nero does have a cleaner which you should use first after un-installing the previous
    version(s) http://www.nero.com/us/631938356101755.html

also, maybe you should try recording at a bit slower speed. some cd's will something like 12x burn speed but nero say's it can burn at a higher speed. You never want to burn at a higher speed that what the cd maxes out on.

Your problem is exactly what happened to me, but my re-install seemed to fix it.

I also recommend buring at a slower speed it sounds like your getting having buffer under run problems.

burn at the second to slowest speed and see what happens.

I have always burned at 4x speed. I have microsoft M.E with 128.0mb RAM , what other specs do you need to know? as I have said before I'm not very comp. literate.

do you have any other burning software on there?? Record now doesnt allow ROXIO Create cd to work, so i have to uninstall record now.. Sometimes burning programs interfer with others. And sometimes need patches to work in other operating systems. Like earlier versions of one software will not work on xp or 2000. Like adobe 6.0 wont work on windows xp, thats what i gathered at the site.

Try the clean tool that axlman has posted a link to above. Then reboot and either re-install your current 6 or go back to a earlier version.

I am thinking it may be a bug in Nero as I just noticed my Nero 6 is not recognising some of the plugins and it worked perfectly before. I re-installed once and now will clean and try one more time myself.

The problem I am seeing for me is only in burning audio cd's. It burns data ok and weirdly enough burns flac files but not ape or mp3's. So it definately has some bugs that are not to common I suppose.
