    Alternative free 1GB mail.

    Was doing a little searching over the net the last few days.

    Came across a email service that provides the following free
    of charge:

    ================================================== =====
    100 megabytes of free web space (complete with FTP and WebDAV access)

    Free e-mail account with 1000 megabytes of storage

    (includes both POP3 and Web access)

    250 megabytes of free storage in Spymac's patent-pending Gallery
    ================================================== ======

    The E-Mail service is provided by a website called http://www.spymac.com

    I am in the process of signing up right now.

    Just registered, has a very nice email interface with 1 banner, and no popups.

    Read the privacy policy a little bit, nothing in there shocked or made me think twice, same old stuff like we will not sell your user information to third parties.

    You dont even need to enter your personal information, unless you use their web auctions and advanced hosting features.

    i just don't see the point of 1 gig of e-mail, unless the max attatchment size is nice, then this would be pretty nice for file distro :)

    yea, this has been known for a few months now, but I am sure that some n00bs may not have known about it.

    Good luck though, SpyMac is slow, and their site is confusing to say the least.

    Trying to retrieve my SpyMac mail via POP fails more often than it works. I pretty much abandoned my SpyMac account because of that.

    I got a spymac account before the 1gig was offered and since then it has gone downhill, and exactly like honkeylips said. Pop access is more often not available and it's very slow now.

    Perhaps it will get better but I myself am dissapointed with it now.

    I tried Spymac too and I didn't even have that much luck. Disappointed is an understatement.

    I was wondering what service i could go with to hold the amount of spam i get without sending it back. Now i have the luxury in letting it all pile up.

    http://www.bluebottle.com (free if you can get a account) has a great spam free system. I am not sure if they are currently accepting accounts (It appears they are accepting accounts. Grab one!) but if not http://www.spamjab.com (currently free but due to be a paid system next year) has a good system you can integrate with any other pop account you might get.

    It seems that they know about the problems, as other people on their own boards are complaining! But someone from the company has posted this thread in their forum

    http://www.spymac.com/forums/showthr...threadid=71948

    So I guess they are aware of the problems like the slowness and are trying to fix them.
