Xolox was great about 2 and half years ago. And then they sucked. And then there was a big article here, I remember, about xolox coming back from the grave about two years ago. What a big letdown. It was all hyped up on here and eveything that some big news article by matt would be shown on March 1, 2002. (I think?) Anyways, it was all this secret hype, and then it turned out to be about the return of xolox, and it was quite a letdown.
Let's hope they don't do the same thing this time around.

As far as i know, its made by the same people behind Morpheus, and the latest release of XoloX was some time in June 2003
Multi-network has been proven to be not that great an innovation.
And I do remember the hype. :mellow

I'm still not sure about that CH. I think it has the potental to be a good innovation, it's just that no one has taken any serious strives toward that goal.
Of course, I could be wrong though.

The main reason I say that is when you upgrade or improve it should be done with all the networks involved and it hasn't been done that way. Some of these multi-networks just leech and don't contribute. Also when one of the networks upgrades the leech network doesn't. Just seems to me that there are more negatives at this time. Maybe things will change in the future.

Very good observations CH, and you're absolutely right.
If someone were to implement a good multi-network system, that person would have to be very busy, since everytime a program was updated, he would likewise have to update his.
A very daunting task indeed.

Just a bit of a flashback here.
I remember I used to support the old XoloX 1.12 along with two other former members here (Buzz2K & markywol). Kind makes you wonder, where are they now?

yea, xolox has really let everyone down. I for one don't think I will be trying this out...very unfortunate.
From what I know, I thought Morpheus was also co-developed by some XoloX developers.. not the other way around.
I clearly remember the "unveiling" of a "new and improved" Xolox, and it was (at best) a subpar Gnutella client. It seemed like the developers ment well, but not much came out of it. We haven't seen any real action from their corner of the p2p arena is quite some time so I'm wondering if they have finally cooked up something worth downloading.

Xolox, why would you use this client?
It's just...not right
That wouldn't make much sense. As far as i know, its made by the same people behind Morpheus
How could the people behind Morpheus develop this, with no carpware? Why would they do that? There's crapware in Moprheus. They wouldn't develop a no-crapware client, if it could compete with Morpheus.
You can't triple stamp a double stamp.
Yes the Xolox developers work now for Morpheus.Originally Posted by matrix2003
