Orrin Hatch's DRM "Freedom"
Hello, maybe you all can help me. The Senator behind the proposed PIRATE Act bill, Senator Orrin Hatch has a music website which offers his music. On his site currently are some "free" samples.

Try "Freedom's Light" (freedom.wma). If you are like me, a DRM MS website comes up. Why would the Senator put up 'free' samples of his music only to have no one be able to listen to them because they are protected by Digitial Rights Management?
Anyway I would still like to listen to them. So I have contacted the website management but as they tell me:
"I have checked with our webmaster and we are having no problems with our soundbites at this time. We are able to listen to them just fine. Perhaps it is a problem in browsers... are you using an older browser?"
Also when I tried to explain to them that according to the Senator's proposed bill, that I, the downloader of the Senator's DRM protected sound file, that I was in violation of his copyright and could possibly face jail time or bankrupcy according to the propsed PIRATE Act, they politely told me that they hadn't pirated the Senator's music.
So download your copy now:

Senator Orrin Hatch's "Freedom" is a classic on scale with John Cage's 4'33".

none 295, we may be able to freely download Orrin Hatch's music without fear of prosecution, but who in their right mind would want to ? If the music is anything like the man, I am sure it sucks big time !!! :cross

The point wasn't the quality of the music Orrin Hatch makes. (in my oppinion all music sucks) The point was that Senator Orrin Hatch was offering "free" samples of his music which we're unplayable. The only way to play them was to "own" the CD, which could get you around the DRM in the .wma file.
I found it funny that the Senator Orrin Hatch's draconian impression of copyright law lead to him offering "free" samples which couldn't be played. And thus downloading them would be a violation of his copyright. and if he was in the mood he could sue you for downloading the file.
I've saved a copy of the old .wma version for posterity:
http://noneinc.com/RIAAEM/OrrinHatch's-Freedom.wma
And the file was named "Freedom" yet it doesn't allow you to listen to it. again i thought this was funny.
sorry for wasting all your times. go download some top 40 and get sued.
