is it possable to cover ones butt when using file shareing programes i use ares and have about 1500 tracks to share about 1000 of these are what i loaded myself from cd,s etc.
any body help me with this as i dont want p.c plod knocking on my door. do i stop, is there any risk
If your asking "can i get in trouble using kazaa alternatives" then the answer is most certainly yes. It doesnt matter whether your on kazaa, ares, winmx, or whatever, you can still get caught. There is a less chance on the smaller networks, yes, but there isnt a 0% chance.
I wouldnt put 100% confidence in the so-called anonymous networks either, there have to be a few bugs and glitches.

the safest thing to do is not to have all your files able to be viewed by one users. but of course if bots or people are searching a network, and your username comes up a multiple of times. Then its safe to say their is no safe point. Just use precautions.. SHARE one alphabet at a time, switch out weekly.. ALL of A's.. or just one folder or album with the tracks in it. Their going after big file sharers.
