movie problem

I just downloaded a movie I've been wanting to see. But no matter what I do, it won't play. After the title, it says .SVCD.TS-Centropy.DIVX.XTech. It claims to be a Winamp file.

Any ideas?

Did you try videolan player? Usually that one will play files that others won't.

Been using VLC for a long time. It won't touch this one either.

I just recently got dsl. Now I can d/l movies. The first one played, but it was in italian. The second one won't play at all. Not exactly a great start!!

What's the extension? It probably should end in .avi

He meant change it to .avi

Just right click on the file and change it like that?

Yup, just change it to .avi on the end and see if it plays then :)

Just right click/rename and make sure it ends in .avi

I didn't think that would work, but it was worth a try. I've never seen an extension like you've got there. From now on make sure you are getting either .avi or mpeg files, (or .rar or .tar if you are using irc). :)
