I have been working on a project for about a year now and I need some input on this idea. The idea is more of a concept idea to give people a chance to download music straight from a running server. You wouldn’t have share with other but just download.
I thought about the idea of a membership then I changed my mind because that is how you attract too many snoopy people. You would be able to download MP3’s at high quality at a brit-rate of 224 compensating for downloading across the net and give you the option of compressing it to a standard MP3 format at a brit-rate of 128. I have also thought about just having it in it’s original wav format but that would take up a lot of space. However if I am going t do something like why not do it right and offer both. Almost like BK have it your way.
I have the server and I am building the webpage as we speak now I look for ideas from you. Let me know what you would want from a service like this.

You all get an A for a job well done. I am going to address each of those questions to the best of my ability. I wasn’t prepared for questions but I will give it a shot.
Johns: You asked me, “What’s t keep you from being sued and shut down in a few days for distributing copy right material”? My answer: I think it would take more then just a few days for them to catch up with me. And Besides their too busy trying to shut down P2P download sites. And you have to remember this is not P2P.
Krell: You and d I have bumped heads before in the past and you got a good point too. How much bandwidth do you think I need? We are talking about Gigabyte right? Transferring heavy amounts of information over the internet? First off I had to buy my web space to put my web page which cost me $36.00 per-month not bad there are cheaper places that I could go but seeing this is my local Cable Company all I am paying for is the web space and the outbound bandwidth is unlimited anyway. So I don’t pay for that. Now if I was paying for incoming bandwidth that would be a different story and I am not sure what the cost world be. As I told John, this is not P2P. It is all outgoing.
Nasrules: Another good question, how am I going to prevent from being busted? Well, at this time I don’t know to be honest with you. That is why I was looking for some ideas instead of questions from all of you. As I pointed out above this is not P2P so I am thinking that I won’t be drawing attention to myself right off the bat. That is why I am wondering if I should only have a membership only website so I can pretty much keep an eye on who is downloading any music. But that is where I could draw attention to myself. So I guess my answer to that Question is that I will cross that bridge when it comes to me.

This a great idea if and only if
1) The server is located in a country with no copyright laws.
2) You find a webhost who will offer completely unlimited transfers (there is really no such thing)
The idea of sharing wav files is completely moronic when you could share lossless files which take up half the disc space of .wav files.
Sounds to me like you are attention seeking.
I was going to adress this post but to save us from arguments I am going to let this one go and go on to the next person. Thank you for the info though.

You won’t have to worry about getting caught though; you'll collapse under the bandwidth load.

That was a interesting comment. You must know something I don't.
You know what guys; I really want to thank you for all your postings some of them really gave me some ideas on what to look out for. There is one however that I had to leave alone because my days of arguments are over with. People telling me I don’t know what I am doing or that I have no concept of different issues. I don’t play those games. I really thought this would be the area where I could get some positive backing on my idea.
Anything and everything is possible. You just have to know how to get around the mess in the middle. You guys are alright and I am not mad at your comments you are looking out for me and a few might want to challenge my intellect or my abilities that is ok too nothing wrong with a good challenge once in a while. I am going to move on and see what other might have to say.
