    Question Audio Cd to Dolby 5.1 ????

    i heard it is possible to rip an audio cd to a dolby surround sound (5.1) format....i have tried searching but could not find an answer or any clue to it...

    does any1 know if at all it is possible to rip audio cd to 5.1 format...and how to do it???

    I don't know how to rip it to 5.1, but foobar can convert to 4 channels/simle surround during playback and it sounds pretty good.

    You can, but it wont sound that great compared to a proper 5:1 mix.

    Youll need to use Sony's Acid Pro 4.

    Rip waves off the cd, put them into Acid Pro 4, create an approximate 5:1 mix

    Then with that you can make a AC3 CDR that will play on a dvd player with a 5.1 receiver with a dolby digital decoder.

    I plan on creating my own 5:1 dvd once a get some speakers so i can mix it properly.
