    emule and my router

I have been using emule non stop for 48 hours i have not turned it off or my computer. I am not just going to complain about emule speed and say it is crap, but in that 48 hours a film i have been downloading is 700mb but has only done 200mb.

I have 1mb bt broadband, and i have left emule running to get it working like i have heard but no luck.

So i read a bit more about emule and i think because my internet runs on a adsl modem with an in built wireless router, that must be the problem.

I also do not have any firewall going not even windows xp.

I like the look of emule and the quality of the films so any help would be aprreciated. thanx.

( i got the film off of shareprovider)

Type ip config in a windows command prompt. If your machines ip address is 192.168.x.x 10.x.x. or 172.16-32.x.x then you are behind a connection sharing system.

Read the manual for your NAT router. If you don't have a manual download a pdf manual from the manufacturers website.

Configure the router to forward the port numbers set in emule preferances to the 192.168.x.x address of your computer. Emule uses one TCP port and one UDP port. If you want to change to a different port pick a random number between 10000 adn 65535.

If you want to run emule on several computers sharing one internet connection you have to use different port numbers for the different clients.
