Exclamation *attention* Really bored people required......

Well first let me tell you a little story....
a few months ago i was browsing some ed2k hash link sites when i suddenly realised that most of the films were posted about a month after they had actually been put on the network when i stumbled upon sharereactor (RIP). it was the only place that seemed to have decent quality links, but with that gone i've decided to try and attempt to make my own edonkey link site.
so far www.gerbilgenocide.co.uk has been pretty easy going, until i got to the hard part adding files. at the moment i'm attempting to add many of the now non existant sharereactor files but i do need some help considering theres thousands of them!!

which brings me to the whole point of this thread. basically i'm looking for someone to help me, someone who uses edonkey/emule a lot and can contribute to the website. dont get me wrong here i'm not trying to make some kind of super site with thousands of users but just a decent website providing edonkey links

tell me what you think about the idea and any suggestions would be grateful!

It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

i wouldnt do it since theirs lawsuits pending on share reactor and others that taken theirs down because of fear of being shut down by the strong corrupt arm of the law.

But there must be a legal way around it. You are legally allowed to download the files if you own a copy of the dvd/cd and purchased it legally. So if i site is made purely with the intention of giving people the means to download something they already own then it must be legal.
Won't a simple disclaimer telling people they can only use the site if the own a copy of what they are downloading?? I'm not so sure myself so could anyone clarify this?

The following is based upon U.S. law, and perhaps other nations with similar laws...

    Actually, you're not.

So if i site is made purely with the intention of giving people the means to download something they already own then it must be legal.
Not really, considering a case can be made that, whether or not your specific intentions are what you stated, your site is still contributing, or "aiding" people in commiting copyright infringement.

Disclaimers are not protection against anything.

Ok that was the most helpful thing i've seen on these forums so far. After a lot of reading i must add, in conclusion the only way that it could be legal is if i set up the website and leave it with other people running it which lets face it would not happen. I think if i'm going to set up a website like it then i'm going to have to face the consequences of what happens but just try and stay as "legal" as i can. Personally this might be a challenge however i may wait and see the outcome of sharereactor before i make any descisions.
