Exclamation when updating do the incomplete files fail etc ?

    Hi All

I currently have eMule v0.30 and would like to upgrade to v0.42 and have downloaded it. If I updated to the new version will my incomplete downloads fail or become corrupt? j/w Just I have a lot of files that I don't want going on me.

If I do update do I install the software in the same directory as my current one?

    Any help greatfully appreciated.

    Thanks.

Just did it a couple of days ago. Incompletes resume with no problem. Install it in the same directory. I don't know if you need to uninstall v0.30, because mine just dissapeared, which was the reason I updated. By the way, My speeds have increased dramatically since updating. It may have something to do with the Kad network.

Thanks for the reply. I've never actually updated eMule before. I always finished my downloads uninstall the old one, and then reinstall the new one. I guess you should not uninstall the old one in case the incomplete files go.

I use the binary version of eMule in case that has any bearings on the situation.

Nice to hear about the speeds too :P

    Thanks again.

You will be fine, just install it to the same directory as your old one. It will not overwrite your old settings or server.dat/met files. And your partial files will be just fine.

Thanks. I will update it shortly. Just didn't want to risk it.
