Hey Blubster won't start and I had the normal one but it didn't work after I installed 2.0 unofficial. Then I got rid of 1.3.2 or whatever and now I can't use 2.0 or get rid of it! Man I think I just made a BIG mistake!

delete the file folder for blubster, if their are two different ones delete both.
then delete any registry entries related to blubster.
then re-install it. I am supposing the original one is that one you want back?
that should do it.
if you don't know how to work with registry download regcleaner from here: http://www.jv16.org/
then use the search command to find blubster refrerances.
btw
I don't have experience with that firewall you said you installed, so I could not help. But I will look for a file I have somewhere that explains how to best configure firewalls.
I got rid of the firewall. And now the folder is empty but when I try to delete the folder it says access denied.. now that's crazy!

ok now...you better explain your problem better please.
I assumed you were saying blubster was messed up. I was not knowing you were having problems because of a firewall.
hmm
now I need to know what you did?
all you had to do was uninstall the firewall through settings|control panel|add remove software.
blubster wasn't working because you needed to enable it through the friewall configuration.
So blubster is most likely ok. You just did not learn how to enable blubster through the firewall.
if you didn't uninstall your firewall correctly I recommend you re-install it, then uninstall it correctly.
Then get a firewall that is easy to configure or study up on the one you had. It was a simple matter of learning the configuration of your firewall.
sorry to make it probably worse, but you did not explain yourself correctly.
It is not letting you delete as obviously part of the firewall is still active and holding it.
man I take your time and keep asking till we fix this....
-------
just saw your screenprint...
yeah your firewall is not configured....
now just explain your situation clearly and let's take it step by step...I will try and check back in a bit.
I got rid of the firewall before I got blubster...:mellow

according to your screenprint your port is closed.
only thing that can close a port is a firewall.
did you uninstall your firewall correctly?
were the folders you mentioned for the firewall?
if you cannot delte them it means they are being held by a active process, which might be residual effects of the firewall installation that was not completed correctly.
there are 2 ways to delete the folder, well maybe 3 at least.
reboot and see if you can delete it. If not it means part of your firewall might still be installed.
so the fastest way would be to install it and correctly uninstall it.
did you uninstall it correctly the first time?
if you did then use alt | cctrl | delete to view the open processes and see if anything looks related to the firewall. If you see something related to it, kill it. then delete the folder.
Nope I restarted two times since I got rid of the firewall... So that must mean I have a screwed up registry right now.

ok just get the program I just told you about called regclean. It is a very good app to have. makes working with registry easy.
another app you should have is process view get it at prcview.com
hmm something is definately weird, but it can be fixed.
when ever you cannot delete something it means some process is holding it. process view allows you to kill processes even when the app will not respond any other way.
sometimes when something is stuck in memory you need to turn off computer for at least 10 minutes. that might be it but doubt it. never hurts to try later...
if it was me, I would use process view to see what is running and kill whatever is holding onto blubster.
then delete everything related to blubster and the firewall in registry and any folders left behind. then re-install blubster.
Version 1.2.3 had XP problems with Firewalls, when I upgraded to XP I went with 2.0 Beta 1, I have had no problem with it.
Try going here to the Blubster Forums, they can help:

Look for the Word Forums on the LEFT.
I posted there before I did here and me and jaba had a big discussion

yeah, apparently there is some other file installed in the installer that is needed to open up that port. when you try to open the folder with out installing, it cant open that port. I cant figure out what else is needed though.

Well I just tried to delete the folder and it deleted fine.... hmmm that is wierd... I guess my computer was burnt from being on for two days...

yeah man,
I mentioned turning it off for awhile, as sometimes stuff gets stuck in memory. It happens now and then. Just remember if something like that ever happens again..
