Bram Cohen (author of Bit Torrent) was hired by Valve (Half-Life/Counter-Stirke/STEAM)

(in English:)
Alfred Reynolds anounced on the HLDS_LINUX list that final beta testing will be done on the offline CS version and it will be released "asap" [*g* what else to use for translation]. If you have a full Steam cache (100%) you will be able to play w/o being online.
Together with the news that Valve hired Bram Cohen makes us hope that Valve is reacting to the massive and enduring community brickbat [criticism].
So are they hiring him to make sure the multiplayer protocol works alright? Thats all I could see, as he made an awesomely clean and fast network.
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):
ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer
Also sporting a black MacBook
Revision/Release 1
Upgraded to 2GB RAM.
This is somewhat old news. It wasn't released to the public until recently but it happened in November. Bram cohen should be helping to design a good distribution method for Steam.
