Hi
I am running Word XP only and didn't install the rest of the office Suite coz i do not need 'em
My problem is that when Microsoft release an update to the Office suite, they release service packs to the whole office and not for the individual programs. Is there any updates available 4 Word XP only 2 d/l and apply (my problem is that it consumes a lot of memory and hogs my resources in general - it takes about 40 MB when working on a simply formatted document - in brief, it acts like a bloatware !!!) :finger
N.B. I am using Word XP V. 10.2627.2625 on Windows 2000 SP4

Get rid of some of your fonts =) That should do alot of things for you.
I'm pretty sure there are Word only updates for version 2k3 (11) so there should be some for Word XP (10)
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):
ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer
Also sporting a black MacBook
Revision/Release 1
Upgraded to 2GB RAM.
You could allways ditch it and use open office. http://www.openoffice.org/

Damn right. Switch to OpenOffice or move back to Office2000.

well, i think i 'll switch back 2 office 2000 but i am afraid my word files won't open anymore.
Open office ?!?!, that needs a broadband 2 d/l - i don't have it @ the moment

I'm sure your OfficeXP files will open just fine using Office2K.

you don't need broadband to DL OpenOffice, 63 megs is downloadable overnight on dialup, and OO will open any word files (not always exactly the same as opened in word, but very close most of the time and often handles damaged word files better than MS word
