Getting a Bitorrent file to be a music file?

Hey, had my first experience with Bitorrent today. Downloaded some music(i hope) but now it just sits there and is not recognized by any software. The file ending is .TAR. Any idea of how i could convert it into say, an Ogg vorbis or MP3 file?

    Thank you.

IIRC, .tar is just another compressed format. You should be able to open it with WinRar.

It's a compressed archive file - you need WinRAR or something similar to open it.
