right now i am currently trying to sort out my mp3's, problem is it's gonna take me weeks, was just just wondering whether there is anyway i can automatically update the tags of all my individual (i.e. not full album) mp3's

In QCD player there is the ability to automatically tag your mp3's using the Gracenote Service.
There is also the open-source Freedb if i am not mistaken
Albums are easy to tag with freedb, many tagging apps support that. But for individual files it's not as easy to do with anything freeware that I have seen. I mean doing each file one by one is about only way to go with a tagging application.
But here are two apps and services that might help you if you are willing to spend a few bucks for them. Made for people tagging individual files.

I asked the same question a couple weeks ago and after trying several progs that people here recomended, Mp3Tag worked the best for me.
With QCD player, i autotag the mp3's automatically.
I can even do each song 1 by 1 if i want.
I wish Winamp had this feature
