mozilla firebir... err.. firefox .8 released

first it was phoenix. that wasnt good enough. then came firebird. all was good. that is, until the 'Firebird relational database open-source development project' decided that mozilla firebird wasd too confusing for their cusomers. long story short, it now has a third name: "Firefox". along with the new name comes version 0.8, making the application one step closer to its final verison.

Just a note for extension freaks who like to use google.com as their homepage..... DO NOT INSTALL THE GOOGLE TASKBAR EXTENSION. It will not load google.com as your homepage. Even if you disable it, a homepage that is google will NOT WORK. It will just sit there loading. This is actually me speaking from experience.

    Besides, it's ugly.

I have been using the Mozilla Phoenix-Firebird-Firefox (whew .i hope they're done with all the name changes) since version .6 and I love it. I installed the latest version .8 firefox on Monday and it also works great . Its definitely faster on my PC than IE and has no pop-ups plus many great extensions you can install to customize the browser as you wish. I do have the Google Toolbar installed with Mozilla Firefox and had it before with Firebird and it always worked great for me.

On thing to avoid however in the settings :

Toolbar Options - do not select the google labs keyboard shortcuts !!! If you do, your browser will hang and take forever to load a page. As long as this option is not enable, no problem. Potato , maybe this is the problem you had . Otherwise a great browser .

You might want to uninstall and delete the folder and reg entries and re-install.

Also I saw there were some install help when I downloaded. I have yet to install it but I have a older version and it did say something about older plugins etc. being incompatible.

I go back and read the info.

    peace

That's cool too. IE6 is getting less and less use.
