Yet ABC Settings Help

First off I think its retarded that this forum wont allow me to search for "ABC" (since its too short) and wont let me search for "bittorrent" (since its too long). Anyway enough ranting :P

My question is about ABC settings. Under the global settings I have had some luck playing with the max uploads and max overall upload rate but I am having trouble making since of it. I cant seem to find the right combination for my connection. Can someone help me make since of these settings and teach me how to find the "sweet spot?" By the way I have the 2.6.1 client.

Now that you have your torrent working properly, it shouldn't matter much, but anyway:
Take you maximum upload speed given to you by your ISP. This will probably be 256K.
Divide it by 8 (256/8=32). This converts from bits to bytes.
Set the max global upload rate to just below this, such as 28.
Make it lower and your download speed will improve. This will continue to happen until about 5kbs, when the anti-leeching measures will kick in and people will stop uploading to you for not sharing.
Remember that it is best for the system to upload as much or more than what you download. Therefore the more you upload whilst you are downloading, the less time you need to continue seeding once the torrent is done. A compromise and going halfway is probably best - set it between 11 and 16 for a 256 upload connection.

by the way....i posted a thanks in another thread for your comments on the credit system for BT and why we should open our ports. I have a much better connection.
Next question. I am having ABC display current seed and peers. The first number is a rather low number which according to ABC's site is the currently connected seed or peer. The second number is in parentheses and again according to ABC's site this number is the actual number the tracker is following. So my obvious question is how do i connect to more of those actual peers or seeds since it would seem to me that the more I am connected too the better my downloads. FYI some of the numbers I am currently tracking are 5kbs download, 8(89) seeds 27(537) peers. Seems to me if I could connect to another few hundred peers I might be in business. Am I dreaming here or is there a way to do this?

Connecting to peers is a case of waiting. The longer the torrent runs for the more of them that it will connect to. It is often unnessecary to connect to the whole network and the connections are wasted bandwidth if you dont use them. In a popular torrrent like the one you have dicribed, your connection should be maxed out by ABC within half an hour of starting. (For a 1mbit connection)
It is said that Shareaza connects to all peers on the network, but that is an entire multi-network p2p program, not just a BT client. Although Shareaza has dramatically improved its BT compatibility, there is a risk that you will walk into more problems than you solve.
