    A few different questions

Hey I am thinking about making a dual system or adding it to my current 160 gig hard drive and besides on how to do it...

which operating system should I use win xp pro or some other version of windows.

I am not doing this tonight so no rush in answering...

    a dual system?

as in a dual-boot system? in which you would run more than one operating system on a single machine.

any particular reason you want to do it?

that might help determine the best way to do it.

I just want the option of it....

or maybe have a better os running

or maybe one that uses less resources..

or it could be used if one desides to die.......

Like compugeek said knoppix is a good start for linux to check out your hardware in linux ... if you like it theres lots of linux distros to choose from that you could dual boot with depending on your taste. Mandrake has a pretty easy install, if you used partition magic and shrunk your last partition leaving an empty space it should pick up the free space and install there, if you desire.

For the record I'm pretty sure windows likes it better when you install its various versions chronologically ... 98 up to xp depending on which ones you want on there.
