    Napster 2.0 Review Part 2

well I have to apoligize about my last review. it kinda sucked. So I made a redo of it and im posted it here. Hope this is better

    Napster 2.0 Reviewed Part 2

    Josh Avedisian-Supportp2p.com News

As a followup to our cursory review of Napster 2.0, we decided to compare Napster's music library against its competitor, iTunes.

First, we did a comparison of each site's features. Napster 2.0 sports a number of stand out features including 1) A 30 second preview before you buy; 2)Message boards; 3) Browsing user's folders; 4) Search by Genre,Artist,Album, Song. Radio; and a 5) Popular playlist. iTunes offers all the same features except the search user function. So Napster and iTunes tie in terms of features offered.

Secondly, we did a comparion on which program was easier to use. We tried out Napster first and found it to be easy to navigate once you knew how to use its functions. 1) Search. The search bar is also located on the top. If you click search, your results will show up. However, if you interrupt your search to go back to your library or whatever, you will have to start the search process all over again. 2) Library. The playlist were easy to use as well and organizing your music in your library was simple. 3) Purchasing. There is 3 simple buttons on the top of the front page. To buy an album. simply click the "Buy Album" button next to the album cover

iTunes, on the other hand, is a bit more complicated to navigate than Napster.
    1) Search. When you first install iTunes, it asks you whether you want to view the library or go to the music store. So with a push of the button, we decided to check out the music store. 2) Library. It took a about a minute to enter the library and find the songs we wanted. Itunes allows a 30 second preview of the song before purchasing a download (but this is not very clear at first glance). We right clicked the song we searched for and it said nothing about a 30 second preview. But then we double clicked and it played our 30 second preview. 3) Purchasing. Once you know the rules, purchasing is very easy. Overall we found Napster to be easier to use.

Finally, we did a comparions of Napster and Itune's music selection and prices. We did a random sampling. Here are the results:

    Napster 2.0:

    Search 1: Britney Spears
Results: 67 track results for Britney Spears

    Search 2: Eminem
Results: 147 track results for Eminem

    Search 3: Korn
Results: 99 track results for Korn

    Search 4: Slipknot
Results: 15 track results for Slipknot

    Search 5: Stone Sour
Results: 27 track results for Stone Sour

    Search 6: Elvis
Results: 500 track results for Elvis

    Search 7: Rolling Stones
    Results: 181 for Rolling Stones

So we did find a good amount of files on Napster so how about iTunes?
    iTunes

    Search 1: Britney Spears
Results: 54 track results for Britney Spears

    Search 2: Eminem
Results: 130 track results for Eminem

    Search 3: Korn
Results: 88 track results for Korn

    Search 4: Slipknot
Results: iTunes came back with no results

    Search 5: Stone Sour
Results: came back with 3 results but none were "Stone Sour"

    Search 6: Elvis
Results: 250 track results for Elvis

    Search 7: Rolling Stones
Results: 240 track results for Rolling Stones

We say the winner for the best music choice is Napster.

In terms of pricing, Napster and iTunes are not surprisingly, very simular. Both offered albums for 9.99 for albums and single songs for .99.

Overall, both libraries seemed lacking in terms of overall product. But it's early in the game. SupportP2P will take another look at these sites in a couple months, and see how they are shaping up.

I wouldnt say its really a scam. They really couldnt go back to free p2p or the RIAA would have there asses down quick. They could of atleast let Napster just R.I.P. But I guess when you want money it wasnt a bad buy. But I will have to admit Napster really is no good yet. I could get better in the future but i doubt it.

Good job Yodashady - now that's a good review. I couldn't have done it better myself.

An object attitude should get one's point across. The first review was lacking that, but this one hit it right on the nose.
