    Thumbs up bearshare opinions

i recently switched from shareaza to bearshare and i find bearshare AMAZING super fast downloads and more search results than shareaza and i like the interface better. i would like your opinion on this :gj

p.s. dont tell me u dont like it cuz of adware cuz the adware in the program can be easily removed with adaware or spybot and lets the program still run. I LOVE IT :)

or just use the betas which has no adware. Hence why there is no "clean bearshare."

Bearshare is by far one of the most advanced Gnutella applications today. Shareaza is a very good app, I love Shareaza; but unfortunatly Bearshare for download speed is unmatched. Its searches are as fast as KaZaA and its speeds are faster than KaZaA's. I wouldn't use Bearshare, you have to use their bearshare labs version with no ads or spyware. Try it, I'm sure you'll love it. And I'm not a fanboy or anything like that I'm just very impressed with what they've done. -Matt

Bearshare is less of a system hog than LimeWire and for that it deserves credit. It appears to have a decent search horizon and can download quickly. But, in the end, it's still Gnutella, so it's really only good for porn or popular mp3s. But if it's popular mp3s you want, you'd be much better off using Clean Blubster or Piolet.

Limewire uses resources because it uses Java. Most Java apps require lots of memory.

first all bearshare is a Gnutella client, witch is not a good thing for me at least.Of course it is all a matter of prospective so you will get a wide array of answers but for me I just can't find BS being productive, and lucrative and such. I still got ed2k to back me up I guess I can live without it!

a question for whtsup , did u connect to g1 when u were using shareaza? I mean i already know that there is other better clients for g1 but u made it sound like there was a tremedous difference.. same network, so go figure

In fact, there really is a tremendous difference, since BearShare nodes and LimeWire nodes are clustering tightly together keeping a very limited number of connections from Morpheus/Shareaza and other clients. That way Shareaza clients often end up in the Morpheus cluster which is performing completely differently from the other two clusters.

BearShare is a good client, but it lacks on partitial file sharing! While Morpheus, Gnucleus, LimeWire have that function, BearShare is the only blocker of the development of the filebase on G1. I will upgrade my CleanBearShare soon.

I still would use it over every other client for music, but shareaza or edonkey hybrid for every other file type.

Currently im uploading the clean version of 4.3.3.2 BS.
You will still experience popups on first start per day - the popup is caused by the search page, the client is compressed/encrypted. The only way we could block it is writing a small python script which accesses that page on startup and places the cookie without opening the browser :) I'll see what is possible.

Although CleanBS shows a popup, it is clean of third party software as weather bug etc.

Well then, I propose you download the latest version of each and compare them for yourself. I found MP2P very disappointing, although downloads are certainly as fast as with BearShare (though I prefer LimeWire for a number of reasons). However Piolet and Blubster don't come even close to finding an equal amount of content (the content I was searching for being not quite as popular but still quite common songs) as the leading Gnutella clients. It's really all a matter of what you are looking for, I guess, but I found only Soulseek better (quite a lot better, actually) than Gnutella as far as music is concerned.

i dont underatnd why i downloaded the same file on shareaza and then on bearshare and yet the one on shareaza was fake (both from g1) and i would get 300 sources on shareaza but my download speeds would be .05 kbps or even less!!!

ok, ill tell you what i bad about BS:
no partitial file sharing what means slow spreading of big files. That means that on the BS cluster nothing else than dumb cam screeners and mp3s are available.

limited connection number - bearshare connects to several users and forgets other. The connection numbers are too low. It would be ok if bearshare would drop not needed sources as ones with too long queue etc, but no, BS just uses the first-come basis.

Wtf is the Share-button doing on final releases? That is the dumbest button ive ever saw.

    Too slow progress.

    Everything else is ok.
