    Thumbs up DVD Shrink

.....while currently in my rent/rip/burn/return phase...I discovered a useful tool : DVD Shrink.
It can copy any DVD to your hard drive and makes it a file that fits on a DVDR ....perfect. Ready for burning.

It's freeware... but this direct link has been having trouble: www.dvdshrink.org

Major Geeks has it listed as well.

clonedvd and xcopy do it too

clonedvd is easy and you can pick and choose what to keep or dump (subs, dubs,"features")

xcopy puts a warning and code # on the finished dvd, clonedvd doesn't

    they are sort of free...

Shrink is the best, IMO. Though it is sure to be superceded by others relatively soon, as development has stopped.

    NOTE: bugfix releases persist.
