A question for the advanced users. Im trying to install Macromedia flash 5 on my computer at work. Where I do not have administrative access. When I try to run the install program windows 2000 just kicks it out and tells me I need to have an administrative account. Whats the best way to get around this?
Should I just install it on my home computer and burn the folder in the "program files" directory and then move those files to the computer at my work. Thats what I did with adobe photoshop and it worked fine after I downloaded the dll's i needed. But i've heard some other programs wont work this way. Thats why Im looking for advice.
I was also wondering if it would be possible to boot my computer at work with a boot disk that disables the whole "administrative/basic user" thing..
Im not real experienced with Win 2000, I have always liked Win-98 and Win-ME more..

Macromedia flash 6 is a flash "viewer" and it is completly free for the masses. Just talk to ur admin he should know about it, and would be glad to help you.

No, what I have is not a "viewer" its the thing you use to make the flash when you make a website (like i do).

get a copy of L0ftCrack...I know they have a trial version of it. The program will break just about any password. Average time is about 3 min. But I have seen it break passwords in 4-10 sec...dont know the site tho..sorry...

I wouldn't try and crack the system.
If the admin won't allow Flash on the system, then there's not much more you can do.
True...it did take 2 1/2 days to crack mine, but mine was 15 characters. there is also a program that you can just put it in the drive, restart, tell BIOS to start off the CD and it will load up like a win 3.1 look to it. from there you can change anyones password you want. I had to use it alot when people were leaving and they were the only ones that knew the password. works friggin great.not if the password is a GOOD password...

There really isn't any way around it, unless your're looking at brute forcing the system and pissing off the admin. Any admin worth his salt is going to have a log of a 2 or 3 days worth of failed log-in attempts.
Chances are you won't be able to install it by copying it over to the program directory
but you can certainly try. My recomendation is to never mess with we the admin, they're always bad people to piss off. Z

I wouldn't crack it so you need to do without it and that file you try to open. Try to get that file in a format that you have access to. Cracking a password could cost you your job and that the last thing you want.
If you can do at home find a Flash converter and transfer the converted file to work. If it is a game then you souldn't do that at work and that the other reason that a Flash viewer isn't allow. Flash is used to make internet games, beside java.
