Looks like they make various hardware for web servers or something. I just took a glance at it. If you don't know what they are you probably don't need them.:tilted
whats being referred to here is the adaptec aspi drivers, in general the stand alone xp doesnt have aspi drivers.
they help with reading of dvd/cd media. in certain instances a program will ask that you run your default dvd playing software to unlock the disk and allow accurate reading or decrypting of data.
basically what aspi drivers do is read the disk with out other softwares intervention, which is probably what you need since you say you have a problem with dvdxcopy.
thanx, ill dl it , and try it, xcopy works great, but only when it works

And thus big otis . . . is why we had countless threads last year about Adaptec and Roxio, that can all be boiled down to these two words . . . .
IT'S CRAP.
Check to see of the IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service is set to Manual or Automatic, or Disabled.
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Make it full screen.
.
Krell, i got as far as finding its set to manual, i really hate to ask for handholding but what should it be set to,

My first impression is to disable it. There "could" be a problem with the built in components for Adapted that are in XP, a conlict of sorts. If you have updated ASPI, and still have a problem with XCOPY, keep researching, or, state very specifically here what the issue is, and the circumstances when the issue occurs.
.
The other option you have is to install ForceASPI, which perfectly installs an older version of the Adaptec ASPI drivers which many companies say is more stable than current versions.
