Have you tried a pop-up blocker?
Some internet ads disguise themselves as help windows, but are just trickery.
... i may of asked this before, have you tried mandrake? or linux?
maybe you got some issues to work out with bill gates.
Got some options or prefrences to uncheck in the IE??
Tried running Spybot S&D?

See if turning off "enable third party plugs" in the advanced tab in options gets rid of it.
Is your homepage set the the help file?
Consider using an alternative brower such as mozilla.
I'm also assuming you've done all your windows updates?
Does it do this offline?

If all else fails, check to see if your F1 key is sticking. Maybe you or someone else spilled something or dropped a staple in the keyboard. Incidently, nice monkey-related username :P

In the Control Panel/Folder Options/View there's an option to restore the folder and browser window that was left opened when you log off. If that's checked, and you left IE opened it will open when you re-start.
Could that be the problem?
edit: I just realised the problem isn't at start up... my mistake.

good idea abt F1 but thats not the problem.
samjam
