There seems to be a debate going on here doesn’t? Kazaa, Kazaa Gold, and your favorite Kazaa Lite, and the big question, are they the same?
We should be asking our mediator seeing that he/she knows everything there is to know about these programs. I am going to tell you what I know, and how I know is from experience because I have tried them all.
Kazaa Media Desktop is owned and ran by Sharman Networks, Kazaa Gold and Kazaa Lite are ran by the same company, and it isn’t Sharman Networks. The reason they get away with using the name is how they use the name and this you can find out for yourself. Sharman Networks spells its name KazAa, while the other two spell it Kazaa.
Is Kazaa Gold a scam? The question for our man in charge is, have you ever used Kazaa Gold? Not likely, All you have to do is let me put the file on here for people to try, and let them decide for themselves. And People, when you do download the program and if it works, go to help and about, and you are going to notice right where is says it is apart of Kazaa Lite, the one program that you all love in here.
There is even Kazaa Platinum out there on the market to buy, but it is the same as Kazaa Gold. Kazaa has many features almost the same features as Kazaa Lite. I am going to try to put the file in with this thread and I hope that this time it doesn’t get scrapped like before. Like I said, if any of you want this program write to me in a email, I would put my email up here but the rules say I can’t I am going to try again, so if you see the file, it won’t be empty this time I fixed that problem. I renamed it but you will still get Kazaa Gold. And please if it does work for you, first thing you do is to check out options, and you will see how it is tied in with Kazaa Lite. And if what I say is true, then Kazaa Lite Company is scamming us all. The choice is yours to make.

Kazaa Gold is nothing but a well known scam. It gives you nothing you cant get for free elsewhere, it is not going to protect you when the RIAA comes calling.

kazaa - original client, the only "official" client, spyware ridden
kazaa lite/K++ - kazaa, with a few extra features like participation hacks and the ability to not share your file list. also supposedly blocks the RIAA, but thats kind of a farse.
kazaa gold/platinum, etc - scams. they just use kazaa lite, then edit some text in the program.
in short - if your paying for P2P, your getting ripped. period.

But if you were to look in the help file and about, you find out how your getting music files, or whatever. I wrote a email to Kazza Gold and they sent back a letter saying that it was true that they are not apart of Sharman Networks but they use the same servers. WE all learn from our mistakes.

Kazaa Lite was never ran by a company. They were a renegade group of programmers (Random Nut being the most known). Kazaa Gold was a scam.
It is Kazaa Lite you fool. You feel for a scam.
There was no Kazaa Lite company. Sharman would have killed them quicker.

Yeah, i agree with hunter.. Just cause some of the mod(s) may have moved your email, your post around, closed them, talk in all caps cause they couldnt make you understand clearer,.. and may of insulted you, is no reason to flame a mod.
I have only tried kazaa before discovering kazaa lite.. It was great, no banners, no ads. This new 2.6rc.. has an ad in the search area. I hate it =( and 2.6 looks ugly and is a system hog with all the DIET stuff thats running in the background. I only get on kazaa for software and very few mp3's. Imostly have to use *Blah shareaza*. And home out of the 150 sources the file will finish. Apart from my other service i have. Im content not using kazaa for media other then software.
What about Kazaa Gold Premium?
I mean, I have Kazaa Gold and Kazaa Gold Premium [not bought, of course], but it seems they are just both alike, and are ripped from Kazaa Lite ...
I don't know, I need your comments. If you want the executable, I have it, but I never made a Kazaa-client able to connect to the Internet. It's because I have SP2, I guess ... I think ...

HI, Im new to music downloading. My main concern is that I want to be able to download whole CDs and not just single songs, also be able to burn them onto CD without paying extra money. Ive tried Rhapsody and you cant burn alot of there stuff and Napster made me pay a monthly fee and more if I wanted to burn. Please help!! Im interested in Kazaa but Ive had it before and I think I remember having to download single songs on there. What about Kazaa Light?
Kazaa died a death a long time ago. If you want whole albums in single zip files my first choice is Emule everytime. Especially for discographys, ie every single CD an artist has made all in one handy zip or rar. My second choice would be to use Bit Torrent and search via Torrenttyphoon BT Search Engine and my 3rd, for legal mp3's would be www.allofmp3.com.

Do you lot not listen? Kazaa Gold is basicly Kazaa riddled with even MORE Spyware but they make you pay for it, Sharman networks (people who make Kazaa) are not behind Kazaa Gold, so dont trust it, Dont trust the name "Kazaa" - "KMD" either way ...
:icon_scra Hi, all this about Kazaa Gold has interested me. I have, unfortunately, recently purchased Kazaa Gold. It worked fine for about 1 week but I was getting loads of spyware, now all I get is a ACTION CANCELLED page appearing when I first log on to my computer.
I tried to uninstall it from my computer but it came up 'file corruption and another application has exclusive access to the file'. HAS ANYONE ANY IDEA HOW I WOULD DELETE IT?
