    Emule! Yes or No

What do you guys think about emule? I think its pretty good. There are lots of files and like how you can download full albums. The only problem is you have to wait for a while for sources to become avaliable. Are there any better alternatives?

    I vote yes.

eMule is freeware and there's constant development on it.

The majority of eDonkey network users run eMule.

    eMule v0.30e Statistics
    Client Software
    eMule: 578 (91.6%)
    eD Hybrid: 20 (3.2%)
    eDonkey: 1 (0.2%)
    xMule: 0 (0.0%)
    MLdonkey: 12 (1.9%)
    cDonkey: 0 (0.0%)
    Shareaza: 20 (3.2%)
    Unknown: 0

I heard that Overnet and Shareza are suppose to be faster at downloading.

Shareaza is faster because it can also connect to G1 and G2, but ed2k is ed2k... the OverNet network, for me anyway... seems to be much faster, at both starting the downloads and the actual speeds.

See this thread for some Overnet discussion: http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=17289
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

    ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
    AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
    Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
    Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer

    Also sporting a black MacBook
    Revision/Release 1
    Upgraded to 2GB RAM.

eMule is king of the hill, as far as large files are concerned. I don't mind waiting for a download slot, because I'm doing a lot of parallel downloads which allow me to be constantly downloading high speeds. Plus, it's open-source!
There is only one problem with eMule (as there is with ed2k and overnet in general), it generates a lot of unnecessary overhead. In case of eMule, which hasn't got the best bandwidth management, your connection can become saturated fairly fast causing your downloads to stall or become very slow.
I heard rumors about overnet being quite fast, - unfortunately I cannot confirm them. In addition, there seem to be a number of movies that are not available on the Overnet network, - even if it were Sharereactor releases.

I personally prefer Overnet over eMule. Emule can be good , but it just doesn't operate as smoothly or quickly as overnet.

Shareaza doesn't display it very well, but there might not be anyone with the complete file. Try starting the same download in eMule and after a minute, check for red segments in the progress bar.

Lightbulb eMule takes more hours for 56K users!

If you're using dial-up 56K, eDonkey2000 is the best choice.

John, a Sharereactor release not available on Overnet? Maybe back in its early days, perhaps. But certainly not now.

Yes I have this problem too. I don't think it's Shareaza's fault, it's just everyone is missing the same chunk of the file

Exactly, you have to wait for some people to log on if you need their completed files or some missing chunk that you don't have.

Emule is the best for finding rare items.
Is it not a feat sublime? Intellect hath conquered time.
