There are ready-made CMS' (Content Management Systems) out there, which allow you to 'easily' set up a site, publish to it, and skin it. However, they are hugely bloated and have hundreds of features that you'll never use. Which is exactly why when PeerWeb returns at New Year, it'll be running a purpose-built, stripped-down system, giving us only what we need and easily upgradable. Oh, and it's designed and developed by yours truly.

    Some examples:
    PHP-Nuke
    PostNuke
    e107

However, the above require web hosting and a basic grasp of FTP, CHMOD etc. To cut all that out but lose some freedom and get a few adverts:
    DK3

ed2k links would be content wouldn't they? ed2k sites manage ed2k links don't they? so, you could create a ed2k link site with a CMS framework.

Unlikely - it'll probably die after a month. Anyway, you just have to make sure that the site's efficient.

you better just forget that idea.
the best sites have so much trouble and are down so many times cuz of incredible traffic and tons of other problems. unless you got a crew and loads of cash you won't succeed.

if you actually frequented those sites a lot you would know how difficult a job it really is. in fact go there and pm or email a mod or admin and ask questions.

    peace

If more people tried to start their own sites which maintained a rough mirror of the bigger sites, then maybe the big guys wouldn't have such a heavy load of traffic
