    firewall for dial-up

    i know that people generally say that people on a dial-up connection dont really need a firewall,but i keep my computer on pretty much 24-7.i would like advice as to whether getting a firewall would be a good idea or not,thanks

    it's a good idea to have a firewall however you connect to the internet.

    although, getting a hardware firewall for dialup is a bit overboard. i'd recommend a nice software firewall (zonealarm, sygate, etc.)

    everyone has their favorites :)

    If you have an old pc, use Outpost v1 ("Free" older version).

    New pc, use Opv2, amazing amount of features.

    I would recommend Kerio Personal Firewall or Look'n'Stop firewall
