I've been having a problem with bittorret freezing usually about 20min after starting torrent. I have tried multiple clients. Original BT, shadows client, BT++, and others all with the same result. I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem. Please help this is getting so annoying.
5 bucks says shareaza bt wont freeze.. i had this problem too. the real bt clients would freeze for me , but shareaza seems unaffected. i checked my startup progs and removed something that some how affected the torrents.. were u testing out new and different bt clients?Originally Posted by mikeniccy2
I've tried just about every BT client I could find. I have not tried shareaza lately because It wasn't working as well as the other clients at the time. i.e. slow to start. But maybe I'll give it a go when I get home.
Thank You thongsai, Shareza Acctually worked!!! I perfer some of the other clients. But i guess this will get me by.
IMHO Azureus is a much better BT Client than Raza, it has the ability to select which files within the torrent to download which I find very useful, as well as many other features that are very nice. Also it has an awesome GUI with a good amount of stats (shows percentage of each file downloaded within the torrent)
Check it out, I think you will like it.
yea i know other clients are better for torrents than shareaza.. i found a fix cuz i kept tryin to solve it, u should try start > run> msconfig.. and post a pic of the startup progs.. i swear somethin comes on that causes torrents to freeze.. since shareaza isnt a normal bt client, it was unaffected..
I have a screen capture of my startup programs. how do I add it in my post?
use the reply button then add attachments.. make sure its a jpg or something.. dont use the quick replyOriginally Posted by mikeniccy2

Well I guess you could always just close all the programs that are running at that time, and see if it still freezes for you.
If you use BT a lot i really suggest Azureus, Raza's BT is quite good, but not quite as advanced as Azureus.
well i would remove all of em especially that pctspk.exe.. that looks suspicious.. u should only have ur antivirus in the startup .. so just remove all others, and a quick restart then try the good old bt clients again.. oh and try goin into ur task manager and remove anythin that looks suspicious too
