I was just installing the latest k-lite codec pack (2.20) and I noticed that "disable divX anti-freeze filter" is selected by default. Does some change in technology mean that it is bad to have this now?
On version 2.10, having antifreeze was not selected by default, but now it specifically says disable.
What do I select?

I left it as it was then a couple of films were really jerky i reinstalled the codec pack with that selected and the films played fine.
That is a bit unclear Beardedwonder (perhaps in reflection from my post), or I'm being stupid, either way can you please spell it out?
Do you have anti-freeze disabled or not?
Thank you.

sounds to me like he has 'antifreeze' enabled... which makes sense; if your divx's are jerky (aka freezing) than turning on antifreeze would make them not jerky.
unless you have a problem with the defaults, i wouldn't change them.

Some people had problems with it now allowing movies to play I believe. They disabled it for the minority of people that had problems. If it causes no problems for you, I'd recommend installing it.

Maybe it's just my English... :/ It's as isus said. The default is not to install; this is what i did but i 'acquired' 2 films and they were jerky, a friend suggested reinstalling the codec pack with anti-freeze and the films ran fine. Haven't had a problem since. HTH
It's just with the latest pack you don't have the option to install or not, only to disable it or not. The default was to disable, but since I uninstalled it with the rest of version 2.10, I guess it's not there to disable. \so thinking about it now, it shouldn't matter either way.

I usually throw it in anyways when I install Nemo codec pack. I have it on my system and it is off I have never had the need to turn it on. Possibly it is needed for messed up divx files, or slow cpu's.
