hold your mouse over the little box next to their username... if it's gray, it comes up saying "____ is an unknown quantity at this poINT".
what is this unknown quantity?
after looking at my box, it's black... it says my reputation is disabled. so i'm guessing something about reputations... but there is the spelling problem, poINT.

I think it means you don't have enough reputation points (bad or good) relative to your original post numbers for it formulate a reputation for you.

See the check and X button to the left of Edit? Click that, then you can rate that persons post, and add a comment.
I personally turned mine off. People thought it would be funny to give me a shit rating and add stupid comments.
