    Post Looking for Registry Cleaner

Reg Cleaner that came with JV16 Powertools has expired for me.

Can anybody recommend a free registry cleaner?

You could also download the free program "RegSeeker". I've used it and it is a good registry cleaner.

I used TweakXP once, but that stopped M$ Office from working. So go with RJ5500 or aqlo instead.
I'm not really malicious. I'm a nice guy.

I do all my registry stuff by hand...

Its not that hard to do if you just use some common sense and dont delete things slapped with the MS label.

For the super paranoid, backup your things before you try it.

That's often difficult to do, as uninstalled programs, especially adware supported types leave up to 10 or more entries behind, in different sections, under different and unidentifiable names.

Likewise, many programs share some entries, delete one for a program you dont need, and it could spell a disaster.

I would go with RegSeeker myself, good luck on hand cleaning :fire
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

    ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
    AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
    Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
    Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer

    Also sporting a black MacBook
    Revision/Release 1
    Upgraded to 2GB RAM.

If you use WinXP this one works great.RegScrub XP

I also tried Tweak XP's, which DID work well for me too. I just found the program itself unstable.
