    Matrix Revolutions

Im sure that by now, many of you have seen Revolutions. So what did you think of it? personally, i thought it was great with some exeptions:

    1) the oracle. i didnt like the fact that she was different in the first place, but they did very little to explain the change.

    2) the ending. i would have liked to see it more detailed. not just a 2 minute segment with little actual meaning.

    3) finally, reloaded. from what i have been told, reloaded and revolutions were made at the same time, and with a single budget. if thats true, then why is revolutions so much better? the CG in reloaded blew chunks compared to that in revolutions.

anyways, what did you guys think of the movie?

P.S. try not to include any spoilers for those who have yet to see the movie.

I heard that the actress that played the original oracle died, so they had to find a replacement after they wrote the script. So there was some "uh...well...just say she had a change or some crap"

    1) The original woman, Gloria Foster, died during production. It's not a story change or their fault. Knowing this now, you shouldnt care bout the change.

    2) This coming from a guy who has "Deux Ex Machina" on his sub-name. LOL
Like many religions and philosophical discussions, the Wachowski brothers dont give all the answers, the point is to let every person have their own thoughts about it later. Don't expect to have everything in life to be given to you on a silver platter for you to understand perfectly without having to give it a good degree of thought.
The ENDING was pretty damn clear though. A slight copout in not showing what happens later, but decent.

The actress died of Diabetes complications during filming.

Is the ending really so clear? I'd like to hear what you have to say.

They had to give people some reason to see Revolutions, some extra incentive. Better FX? Why, of course!

Maybe spoiler on the last sentence, if you havent seen it. Its still vague, so read if you have seen it.

I dont think nothing can compare to the first one.
The acting, the fight sequence. The bullet time, this one takes more place in zion and the real world. Which is a fight in itself.
You have to think of Neo as Jesus christ(if you can). He was here to save the world, In the first movie a guy knocks on the door asking if he has the disk, and neo says,"You got the money". And after he hands him the disk, the guy says,"Jesus christ, my own personal savior."

I like the trilogy, shame that one of the main characters at the end has to go.

I thought the movie was awesome. I went to theaters and saw it first then I downloaded it lol. The third and final part to the trilogy definitely was better than revoloutions but not better than the original. There could have been a little bit more explanation for the way neo dies and all of the smith's explode with that white light stuff, wierdly enough after all of the smith's are gone there is a shot of the oracle lying in the puddle in place of neo. Quite akward isnt it?!?!?!?! if anyone could explain that would be great. Anyways I loved the movie and deserved the whole 6.50 I payed for it, support movies that deserve it in theatres I know I do :playboy.

im sorry there was nothing clear about the ending. and thinking for ourselves? you mean guessing for ourselves. because there isnt any information available to make a judgment to what exactly happened. its like in reloaded people making theories about the architect neo dialog. you cant "know" beacuse it wasnt written. you can guess. i dont remember in star wars such huge wholes in the story that you had to debte what actually happened.
**************BIG SPOILER ********** im gona write in transparent:

COME ON neo blowing stuff in the real world... you can kinda of explain that, i mean its a movie, you can say " he is just connected to the source and can feel and control the machines" but the problem is not the logic the problem is that its just STUPID. even in LOTR people wont except powers from nowere, so just making neo like some magician is realy stupid to me.
what made this movie a hit that you can imagine it all happening, machine beeing strong, fooling people with vr software, someone being able to tweak it(neo). and than, they bring this superman in the real world. come on. have mercy on us over 15.
for the ending, no one knows what killed smith beacuse they havent told us. you can guess.
the biggest problem i have is in advertisement point of view, the ads said all the answers will be there, and there wasnt. disappointing.
i think im gona throw my reloaded and just pretend 2 and 3 were never made.
    ill stick with the first.

That scene pissed me off. Not because the character died, but the way that person died. I wasn't sad that that person died. Not one bit.

Potato also didn't like the movie, but she doesn't feel that she needs to defend her dislike.

absolutely stupid, this I-will-explain-you-why-the-oracle-looks-different-now thingy. why didn't they simply pretend that nothing has changed? there are many movies where the same person is played by different actors in the sequels. To the audience the protagonist looks different, but not to the people in the film. so Trinity shouldn't look suprised, but should simply say, "hi, oracle, how do you do", as if it were the same person, i.e. looking the same as before. it would be perfectly ok.

Take e.g. that Ryan guy in movies based on Clancy's novels-he is played by different people, once it's Harrison Ford, the other time it's Alex Baldwin, and the script writers didn't invent stupid stories in order to explain why there's a different actor.

and besides it seems as if it were a punishment to be a black person. Like the oracle said, "I made a choice and that choice resulted in me looking the way I do now", as if it were a punishment, first she was white, then made some stupid choice, and BOOM! she's black, oh, I am so unhappy.... that's racist crap.

And I think it's totally stupid that the source's power extends to the real world, that's simply stupid, matrix is unreal, so one can extend one's power beyond one's real limits, but stopping sentinels in the real world using mental powers, this hasn't got anything to do with science fiction any more, science fiction can be explained only by science, but this stupid esotetic thingy with the superhuman powers in the real world is so stupid and doesn't fit into the matrix concept.

And besides, I didn't get what happened in the end. So Smith infected Neo, and then they all died. Why? and why didn't the little girl and the oracle die? If all people infected by Smith died, including Neo, then the little girl and the oracle should have died too, Serath too, 'cause they all have been infected by Smith too.

And I didn't like that fact that Monica Bellucci had hardly any scenes in MR, stupid.

And in the end the stupid oracle says that maybe Neo will return. Stupid Hollywood, always trying to let some things open so that they can make another sequel and earn some more money. How can he return? he's dead! maybe Trinity will return either? Yeah, bend the physical laws of the real world yet a little more! They are dead, but they will return. Ok, if Neo is the saviour, then there's always a chance of second coming. but wait, he already had his second coming in Matrix 1 when his heart stopped in the end. so anybody heard about a third coming?

What I liked about the movie is that it ends just the way it begins, in the end Neo and Smith fight, just as they did in Matrix 1, and even the movements are often the same, reminiscent of the first part. Ah, whatever. I must say that Matrix 2 and 3 have no value of their own. It's as if they have been made solely for the purpose of explaining some things that were left open in the first part. Totally boring to watch them. Once is ok to understand everything, but I couldn't watch Matrix revolutions for a second time, I nearly fell asleep, so I clicked the stop button on my remote control, it's simply too boring.

Basically, the movies are spectacular action movies. That being said, WTF with the ending? Ok so right as Neo is making the deal with the sea urchine looking thing the sentinals just quit. Why? How would Neo have ever have known, they had made a truce? Beyond that lets say the sea urchine holds off the attack for a minute. The machines completely out number the humans. They had the humans back to the wall the humans were prepared for there "last stand." What is stopping the machines from backing out of there deal.

And don't give me that crap about they need the matrix. They writers of the plot line said in Reloaded that (by way of the overly verbose Architect) the machines have back up plans and were prepaired to live without the humans in the matrix.

I think that what happened here is the Warchovski bros (however you spell it), tried to take on the meaning of human existance, and epic battle of good and evil, and came up way short. I believe its beyond our comprehension to sum up the meaning of humanity, in a trilogy. However, kudos on the effort, because it was in the least entertaining.

Someone suggested that the ending should have seen the end of either the humans or the machines. I my self would have been disappointed with either ending, because the humans destroying the machines would have been too fairytale. And the machines destroying humanity would have been a hardsale for WB. I think that the best ending would have been the story the architect mentioned where the humans are stuck in a perpetuating game where they are always expecting the uprising, and the machines eraticate zion only to create it a new.

    my thoughts on Matrix revolutions

I've been hearing most people complain about the 3rd film, and i myself was somewhat dissappointed to see it end in the way it did.

However, if you look at this movie for what it really is, it is the best philosophical ending any movie could have. I also have noticed that most people have commented on how Reloaded and Revolutions do no justice for the the Original Matrix. I have a better suggestion, and just hear me out?

Before seeing Revolutions i myself felt that the Original Matrix was much better than Reloaded and that the trilogy was falling apart. But now that i have seen all three films i find myself asking, "what the hell"? My opinion now is that the Original Matrix SUCKED, that's right SUCKED, i'm sorry many people will disagree with me, but after seeing Reloaded and Revolutions i wonder what were they doing to the first film.

The first film did NOT have enough philosophical integrity, it was only action, action and more action. I believe that this trilogy has been hurt not by the lack of a good ending in Matrix Revolutions, but the lack of a good beginning in The Matrix.

i feel that most people like the first film for the wrong reason.

feel free to offer your own opinions, and if anyone else agrees with my opinion please speek up.

the reason we liked the first one was because it didn't try and get to philosophical. It was enought that it was deep, without being zealous.

In my opinion the deeper something gets the more holes in the story line open up because it is easy to forget what you already told us.
