    I am goin to burn a game for a friend from work, and want it so when he puts the cd in the cd-rom a Image that says " Your Fired " autoloads onto the screen

    i am not 100 percent this will work on an image, but you can try it.

    create a new text document

    put the following in it:
    [autorun]
    OPEN=*.*

    for the first star, put the filename, and the second star, the file extention. remember that the file must be in the root directory of the CD, or you will have to add the directory path before the filename in quotes.

    for example:

    [autorun]
    OPEN=yourefired.jpg

    or

    [autorun]
    OPEN="Pictures\fired\yourefired.jpg"

    ive never tried that with a picture, but im pretty sure it will work.

    i was going to mention that, but i forgot about it while explaining how to make an autorun file. what you need to do is when windows promts you with that wizard that asks what you want to do with this file is set it to open with a certain program, then at the bottom of the wizard, check the box that says somthing to the effect of 'allways do this for this file type'. the thing is, you'll have to do it to the computer you want to use for the joke.

    if its not an XP pc, then it should be fine, but xp has that damned thing that pops up every time you insert a disc with some media it thinks it can read.

    i found exactly what you need. http://www.imagespro.com/programs/736/

    its an uber small app that you just place in the root dir of the cd along with the image and point the autorun.inf file to the exe instead of the image. it says it creates a slideshow out of images, but i assume that if you only have one image, it will just display that and keep it that way.

    This is a nice prog. Easy to use too. Exept for one thing. It puts the words "unregistered version" in the middle of each picture!!
