Sounds like what happened to me when I had the blaster worm. It started out like what you're talking about, then it kept happening more frequently until it was like every couple of minutes. I'd check to make sure you're not infected. Go to symantec's website for a removal tool.

Nasty DSL Glitch Any help?
I've got DSL and WinXP conneced via router. Every couple days my access to the internet is cut off. I can reset the router, but it goes out again in an hour or two. If I use software restore to go back a few days it works for a few days again. Any ideas? I could reinstall XP but my family would be annoyed at me so I want to see if there's anything else to try first. :mellow

Back for a few days
change your ethernet card, and change your wire, work'd for me when I had a simular problem with my cable modem.

The wire I can do easily, but I'll have to see what my dad thinks about the card...
