    Talking More Stupid Newbie Questions...

I was wondering if anybody had any opinions on the anonymizer and zone alarm pro software. What is a proxy server? How do you get one? What is the best protection from hackers, computer scanning etc...

Wanna be truley anonymous on the internet ? Don't go on the internet. Basically, you can be found if someone is looking so don't do anything stupid like hack the Pentagon unless you want to spend 50 to life in a 9x9 cell with Bubba.

Zone Alarm is a free firewall that helps protect you from unwarrented entries into your PC, I do not like ZA but hey it's good for newbies and it is free so it isn't all that bad. You can find it here -> http://www.zonelabs.com/

A proxy server is a WAY to be anonymous on the internet but again, it is not fail safe. Basically it is the middle man between you and the computer you are communicating with. So to THAT computer cannot tell what your information is, only the proxy. I hope I described that correctly. Want proxy protection ? First you better do a little research on it -> http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...=Google+Search

To protect yourself, get a firewall like Zone Alarm and a virus scanner like AVG Free edition -> http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
Don't worry too much about being hacked though.

    Thumbs down

The anonymizer was created by people who are not your friend. Zone Alarm's okay,Sygate's better (imho). Go to http://multiproxy.org for a list. Make friends with the hackers and they wont fck you up.

How come you keep askin this same sht under different names by the way? Not friendly, I say.

Really? I had no idea. I always figured they were just out to get a buck but their software still worked. Why is it any worse than most of the other companies?

Wait, wasn't this the company that had to transfer all of its information over to the FBI? Or was that a different company. -Matt

I believe you may be thinking of Proxy Sentinel Matt.

The original spec for the Anonymizer was designed by DARPA for the stated purpose of bottlenecking proxied traffic though a small group of servers. Got picked up by several companies including the current version's distributors. No one worried about it at the time, after all we aren't traitors, but recent changes in the relationship between Law Enforcement and Intelligence cause grave concern in the Bleeding-Edge community. The base code is encrypted, implementations simply make calls to this module.

Ok i used Anomyser and guess what i had ZAP aswell

I deleted Anomyser after i cant be bothered cause well if you want to be untraceable dont use the net

Anyone can get ur ip address but finding open ports is a problem with firewalls

DONT use proxies due to hackers like to hack them aswell
