What is "warez" ? How do you say it? like "where's" or "wahrehz" And why are they bad, i've seen some posts referring to not posting them, or about them, but why?
Please don't beat me up too bad...I'm rather new to p2p stuff...

Warez mostly refers to cracked software,which is illegal! If you can afford a software that you found useful you should support it, so they can continue with development of your favorite software in the future.
warez....sounds like "wear" (like a shirt you wear)...with the Z after it...

anyway... its good stuff.. just another name for free software.. i mean.. stuff you can try for free as long as you want "but you should buy it if you really like it. (hmmm) usually its a tad tricky to install.. not like downloading a song and hitting play on winamp.. but read the instructions with the warez CAREFULLY and install it EXACTLY like it says...(or some times you cant get it to work.. i can like 90% of the time.)

Warez in the name itself stands for bootleg, illegal software, hince the name software "ware" add the illegal "z" = "warez".
Breif History
Before the introduction and rise of P2P, before the DMCA (federal gov't) Warez was a highly popular way to get illegal software over the internet. Which often involved you starting from a search engine typing out the name of the software you wanted and adding warez at the end of the search query. Results would bring up the underworld of the internet, where you would find many pirate sites, bootleg copys and illegals that were often free to download. Often time what you have to do is click on maybe one of their advertisements just to pay the webhost and keep his site running before downloading warez.
As I mentioned before that was before the rise of P2P and the DMCA, and by the year 2000 warez had began to fade in the back with all the bad popup ad sites, and spyware links. Most of the popular warez sites were shut down by the feds, some went bankrupt from trying to host there site, the rest went to resorting to leasing their site with advertisements to earn money, hince the constant blatter of popup ads. The chances of finding anything good from a warez site these days is the same chance of finding $20.00 outside your home!
Basically if you have software...that you didn't pay for. That is warez. Does it really matter how you pronounce it? I mean other than typing it into this forum, when do you really use it.
Please don't tell me you are at school trying to impress your friends by being a pirate. The word warez won't do that for you.

Their is a thing i heard ,if you have any software on your PC more then a year you should buy it. But it take me a year to save up for some of these softwares i have seen.
