What is there to do to get back at the riaa?

I know there has been threads simular to this.. but this is diffrent.
Im not telling you what to do to protest the Riaa. I was wondering what is there that we can do? I mean if we just sit back and keep downloading normally we will most likely get sued. We can not share files, but the Riaa just gets what they want. We cant shoot (Or I wish we could) Riaa execs so that is outa question.

The only thing you could really do is not buy Cds, but other people still buy Cd's and it wont make much of a diffrence..

    So are we screwed?

    Yeah!

That's it, we should all go to work for them and simply be as lame and incompetent as we can be, advise them to sue 12-year-olds, that kind of thing. Hey, waitaminute, maybe some of us ARE working for them! ;)

    Do not purchase CD's

That will hurt them the most. But if you do buy CD's purchase used ones. I actually can't believe anyone would even buy new since it's so easy to buy used ones on half.com or somewhere. Than when your done, copy it, and resell it.

To change anything in governemt a series of events have to unfold. First of all, educating your kids to be open minded, and having them go to college to get great jobs. Because the RIAA is going to have to hire younger people from our generation, so they will eventually have to die off, taking their thinking with them. We moved towards Civil rights, Women rights, Gay rights to even get married... and now it be for file sharing rights. =)

    That plan won't work

If all information becomes normally freely available to the common man, then we won't have any writers or photographers or musicians (at least studio musicians) or movies, because the financial incentive that keeps their numbers high would be gone. I mean, if technology comes along that allows computers to write software, thereby lowering the pay of programmers to $0 per year, how many people will pursue a career in programming? Not many. Maybe a few folks who really love to write software and don't particularly need money, but...

I guess we *could* go that route and hope that technology allows us to create AIs that can write good books, make good music, take good pictures, make good movies, but...well, that seems like a pretty remote possibility at this point. (Although a guy DID create software that DID write a book, using Valley Of The Dolls as its general plot outline - so who knows.)

most people say don't buy cd's but then they'll go to bitching about losing more and more money. So i think the best thing you can do is keep sharing. That'll fusturate them knowing were not intimidated.

Money, isn't the only driving force, for developement of new software.
Did you notice how many people is creating new and better programs every day? And yet it's free.
You seem it's in our nature to try and improve ourselves, or even just to show... "Yeah, I did it"
